Buffalo Bills acquiring Amari Cooper ‘feels like a heist’ (Media reactions to trade with Browns)

Despite finding a way to defeat the New York Jets on Monday Night Football, Buffalo Bills general manager Brandon Beane realized that the team needed more from their wide receiver room.
Just hours after the New York Jets acquired Davante Adams in a trade from the Las Vegas Raiders, the Bills made a move of their own to acquire a Pro Bowl wide receiver. Buffalo sent a 2025 third-round pick and 2026 seventh-round pick to the Cleveland Browns in exchange for wide receiver Amari Cooper and a 2025 sixth-round pick.
Cooper, 30, is coming off of a 2023 campaign where he caught 72 passes for 1,250 yards and five touchdowns in 15 games. The receiver has gone over 1,000 yards receiving in four of the past five seasons and currently has 24 receptions for 250 yards and two touchdowns.
In Buffalo, Cooper is expected to take over as the Bills’ No. 1 receiver. Cooper’s addition should benefit Buffalo’s other pass catchers as he is expected to draw plenty of attention in Buffalo’s passing attack. With teams focused on slowing down Cooper, other pass-catchers such as Khalil Shakir, Dalton Kincaid, Keon Coleman and Curtis Samuel should find more success getting open down the field for Josh Allen.
Following the trade, multiple media outlets reacted to Buffalo adding Cooper. Across the board, every media personality featured feels that Buffalo’s roster improved to the point where the Bills have one of the best teams in the league. Here’s a look at what media personalities said after the trade was announced.
